cEDH Tournament Report: Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy wins The Fool's Gold CEDH 1K
Henderson, Nevada played host to a gold rush of a different kind on October 30, 2026, when 61 players sat down for The Fool's Gold cEDH 1K. Nobody was fooled by the end of the day, though, because John E took the title piloting Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy with a record of 3-1-1. That draw on the ledger is a nice reminder of how tight cEDH pods can be, and that you don't need a spotless record to walk away with the trophy.
The Top 4 was a tidy snapshot of the field. Kinnan led the way, joined by a Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh and Tymna the Weaver pairing, a list running an Unknown Commander, and a Thrasios,

How it plays & wins
Kinnan is a fast-mana and free-spell shell. The deck opens with Moxen, Sol Ring, Mana Vault, Lotus Petal and a stack of mana creatures like Birds of Paradise and Llanowar Elves. Kinnan doubles the output of nonland mana sources, so a couple of rocks can turn into a huge turn. Along the way it holds up Force of Will, Fierce Guardianship, Pact of Negation, Force of Negation, and Mental Misstep. Rhystic Study, Mystic Remora, and Consecrated Sphinx supply card advantage while the deck sits behind protection.
No single combo is clear from this list, and I won't invent one. The likeliest finishes are a mana-fueled Walking Ballista, a flashed-in Hullbreaker Horror, or a Finale of Devastation, Green Sun's Zenith, or Chord of Calling chain that finds whichever threat the board needs. Otherwise it wins through a resolved Sphinx and overwhelming counterspell backup.
