Game Changers & Brackets
Everything you need for a fair Commander game: what the brackets mean, which cards count as Game Changers, and what is banned. Lists update automatically every day.
1
Exhibition
Ultra-casual, theme first. No Game Changers, no mass land destruction, no extra-turn spells, no two-card infinite combos.
2
Core
The average casual deck. No Game Changers, no mass land destruction or two-card combos. A few extra-turn spells are fine, but don't chain them.
3
Upgraded
Stronger, tuned decks. Up to three Game Changers. No mass land destruction or chained extra turns; two-card combos shouldn't win early.
4
Optimized
High power, anything legal goes. Only the banned list applies.
5
cEDH
Competitive Commander built to win as fast and consistently as possible. Only the banned list applies.
Brackets are a conversation tool for pre-game talks, and Wizards of the Coast still adjusts the details regularly. Always check the latest official Commander announcements.
